Spencer has expressed admiration for existing handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, and Steam Deck. He highlighted the importance of local play as a potential feature for an Xbox handheld. However, it remains unclear what unique selling points an Xbox handheld would offer compared to existing devices.

For the immediate future, Xbox’s focus is on improving the Xbox app, which can be used on current handheld devices. Spencer acknowledged that the app still has room for improvement and will be a priority for the company.
