Spotify is gearing up to challenge YouTube’s dominance in video content with its new Partner Program. Launching on January 2, 2025, this program aims to monetize both audio and video content beyond traditional advertising revenue.

Creators can earn income through two primary avenues:
- Ad Revenue Sharing: Creators will receive a portion of ad revenue generated from their content across all Spotify platforms.
- Podcast Subscriptions: Creators can offer exclusive bonus content and perks to subscribers, who pay a monthly fee to support them directly.
To qualify for the Partner Program, creators must meet specific eligibility requirements:
- Ad Revenue Sharing:
- Host and upload content through Spotify for Creators
- Achieve 10,000 hours of streams and 2,000 unique listeners within a 30-day period
- Publish at least 12 episodes
- Podcast Subscriptions:
- Publish at least two episodes
- Have at least 100 unique Spotify listeners within a 60-day period
Initially, the program will be available to creators in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
Spotify’s strategic move to expand its video content and creator monetization aligns with its efforts to enhance user experience and attract more content creators. By integrating with popular social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, Spotify aims to increase the visibility and reach of its audio and video content.
