The refreshed design features a more modern and accessible look, with rounded buttons, dialogs, and sidebars. The colour palette has also been updated for improved clarity and visual appeal. Google has also updated icons and typefaces across the Calendar UI to enhance readability.

One of the most significant additions is the support for dark mode, offering users the choice between light mode, dark mode, and device default. This feature was previously unavailable without third-party extensions.

To enable dark mode, users can access the settings icon in the top right corner of the Google Calendar interface. The new drop-down menu will allow users to select their preferred theme.

While this update brings a fresh look and improved usability, Google warns that active browser extensions might not function as expected due to the visual changes.
