The face-detection technology will enable creators, actors, musicians, and athletes to identify and manage content that features deepfake versions of their likenesses. YouTube has not yet disclosed a specific release date for this tool.
The “synthetic-singing identification” technology will be integrated into YouTube’s Content ID system. This tool will allow partners to find and manage content that uses AI-generated versions of their singing voices.
Amjad Hanif, YouTube’s vice president of creator products, emphasized the company’s commitment to using AI to enhance human creativity rather than replace it. YouTube aims to work with its partners to ensure that future advancements amplify their voices and address concerns related to AI-generated content.
