Dyson’s foray into headphones continues with the OnTrac, a pair that ditches the air purification of the Zone and focuses heavily on customization.

The key feature of the OnTrac is its unmatched level of personalization. Forget flimsy silicone covers – Dyson lets you completely swap ear cushions and outer ear cups in a variety of colours and finishes (seven and seven options, respectively). This allows for over 2,000 unique combinations, catering to every style whim.

While the looks are a standout, the OnTrac boasts impressive features beyond aesthetics. Dyson claims best-in-class noise cancellation achieved through an eight-microphone system, with a companion app letting you monitor ambient noise levels. Battery life is another champion, lasting a whopping 55 hours on a single charge – outperforming most competitors.
The 40mm drivers promise deep, feelable bass and clear highs, with tilted speakers enhancing audio delivery. On-head detection automatically pauses music when you take them off, adding a touch of convenience. Bluetooth connectivity includes standard options (SBC, AAC) and the higher-fidelity LDHC, though compatibility is limited to some phone brands.

The included carrying case offers basic protection but might not be ideal for harsh environments. While the lack of a dedicated headphone jack might be a turn-off for some, a 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapter is included.
Dyson’s OnTrac headphones seem like a significant step forward compared to their debut offering. The focus on customizable style, coupled with strong battery life and noise cancellation, makes them a compelling choice for fashion-conscious audiophiles. However, the high price tag and limited LDHC compatibility might deter some. Time will tell how they perform in terms of pure sound quality, but the OnTrac undoubtedly injects a fresh dose of style and innovation into the headphone market. ANC. Can they really hang with the heavyweight competition? I’ll share more on that soon.
