From the video, we’ve gleaned several details about the upcoming Razr Plus. Aesthetically, the device draws inspiration from the Samsung Z Flip series, continuing the design language of the 2023 Motorola Razr. Notably, the Razr Plus features a significantly larger external screen, even larger than that of the Z Flip5, according to the leaked content.
Unlike the Z Flip, the Razr Plus’s external screen functions like a regular smartphone display, not just limited to widgets. It supports full apps like Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and more.
The device boasts an IPX8 water resistance rating, indicating improved water protection compared to its predecessor. However, this upgrade comes at the expense of dust resistance, as it loses the IP53 rating of the previous model.
While the Razr Plus seems to have an edge over the latest Z Flip in terms of aesthetics and screen functionality, details about its internal specifications and hardware remain scarce. Nevertheless, the 2024 Razr Plus is expected to be more affordable than Samsung’s foldable counterpart.
The leak also highlights an “AI-powered telephoto zoom” feature, though it provides no additional details about the dual-camera setup. We also get a glimpse of the colour options, which include navy blue, leaf green, and a maroon-pinkish red.
While some Motorola smartphones, like the Moto G13, are available locally, the Razr Plus series of foldables has not yet made its way to South Africa and likely won’t be available there anytime soon. The 2023 version of the Motorola Razr Plus retailed for $999, providing a potential price benchmark for the new model.
