Sony’s beloved robo-mascot, Astro Bot, is making a return with a new game. During the PlayStation State of Play event on Thursday, Sony unveiled a trailer for the upcoming PS5 title Astro Bot. This 3D platformer, reminiscent of the Super Mario series, is a sequel to the well-received Astro’s Playroom and is set to release on September 6.

The trailer showcases Astro engaging in a variety of exciting activities, from wading through puddles filled with pink flamingos to grappling across platforms like Bionic Commando. In one memorable scene, Astro even summons a PS5 console to battle a giant green alien in a UFO. The trailer also pays homage to classic PlayStation titles, featuring a cameo from PaRappa the Rapper.

Sony describes Astro Bot as a “supersized adventure” that takes players across six galaxies and 80 levels in search of Astro’s lost crew. The game promises over 15 new abilities for players to master. As with its predecessor, Astro Bot will highlight the advanced sensors and haptic feedback capabilities of the DualSense controller.

Astro Bot will be available for pre-order starting June 7, ahead of its September 6 release date.
