Four years ago, we caught wind of an Avenir phone boasting an 18,000mAh battery. Now, Avenir Telecom is back at it again, this time with a smartphone encased in a whopping 28,000mAh battery.

Dubbed the Hard Case P28K, this device, like its predecessor, will be marketed under the Energizer brand, which Avenir licenses from the battery manufacturer. The P28K is touted to offer enough battery life to last a whole week of regular usage. Additionally, it boasts a rugged IP69 rating, ensuring durability for off-the-grid adventures where charging points are scarce. With a talk time rated at 122 hours (over five days) and standby time extending up to 2252 hours (almost 94 days), the P28K is built for endurance.
However, its considerable battery capacity comes at a cost – literally and figuratively. Weighing 570g and measuring 27.8mm thick, the P28K is more than three times thicker and heavier than an iPhone 15. So, if sleekness is a priority, this may not be the device for you. Nonetheless, it supports fast charging of up to 33W and can be fully charged in under an hour and a half using the included 36W charger.
In terms of specifications, the P28K offers entry-level performance. It lacks 5G capability and features a modest MediaTek MT6789 processor. Other specs include 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a triple rear camera setup, Android 14, and a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display.
Avenir Telecom intends to retail the Energizer Hard Case P28K for €249.99 when it hits the shelves in October this year.
