YouTube Music users can now join the trend of sharing their year-end music recap, much like their Spotify and Apple Music counterparts. The YouTube Music Recap is now live, accessible from the 2023 Recap page within the app. Users can explore a comprehensive overview of their top artists, songs, moods, genres, albums, playlists, and more from the past year. Additionally, the Recap is viewable in the main YouTube app, offering a seamless experience with some exciting new features for 2023.

In a creative twist, users can now personalize their Recap with custom album art. YouTube will generate this unique artwork based on the user’s top song, moods, and energy score from the year. By blending colours, vibes, and visuals, the platform aims to craft a visually appealing representation of the user’s musical journey throughout the year.
Another noteworthy feature matches the user’s mood with their top songs from the year. Users will gain insights into the percentage of songs falling into categories like upbeat, fun, dance, or chill. To add a personal touch, users can incorporate snaps from their Google Photos to create a visually customized summary of their music-filled year, offering a unique perspective that might also capture highlights of their year in travel.
