This is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro, a limited edition smartphone paying tribute to the iconic SGH-E700, originally released in 2003, exactly 20 years ago. This special edition sports the same indigo blue and silver colour scheme as the original, featuring similar pixel graphics on the clock widget displayed on the cover screen.

Furthermore, it offers an exclusive cityscape-style animation on the Flex Window. The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro will be available for purchase in Korea and several European countries; however, it won’t be offered in the United States.

The SGH-E700 marked a significant milestone for Samsung as it was the company’s first mobile phone equipped with an integrated antenna. This innovative device became a massive success, with over 10 million units sold. The popularity of the SGH-E700 played a pivotal role in enhancing Samsung’s position in the mobile phone industry, contributing to its transformation into the smartphone giant it is today. Remarkably, this phone was so beloved that in 2007, Samsung effectively reissued it with updated radios, primarily as a nostalgic nod, despite the fact that it was only four years old at the time.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro package includes three Flipsuit cards adorned with logos representing different eras in Samsung’s history. Additionally, it features a Flipsuit case and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number, making it an attractive collectible. This limited edition smartphone is set to hit the market on November 1 and will be available for purchase on Samsung’s official website in Korea, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Australia.
