The MrBeast chocolate bars come to South Africa

Massmart is set to introduce MrBeast’s Feastables chocolate bars to its product lineup, commencing on October 20. MrBeast, also known as James Stephen Donaldson, is a YouTube sensation with more than 200 million subscribers. His channel is the second-largest on the platform, outranked only by the Indian record label T-Series. He rose to fame through his audacious challenges, substantial giveaways, and grand video productions. Notably, MrBeast often reinvested the full sponsorship funds into production or gave them away on camera.

Massmart is prepared to offer four variants of the popular Feastables chocolate brand: Milk Chocolate, Deez Nuts (milk chocolate with peanut butter), Crunch (milk chocolate with puffed rice), and Original Chocolate, with each bar priced at R49.95. While these chocolate bars may cost more than some other options, Massmart aims to attract a younger clientele looking to experience these internationally renowned treats.

Massmart’s Vice President of Marketing, Katherine Madley, emphasizes the importance of innovation and staying aligned with evolving consumer preferences to drive the future of retail. Feastables have enjoyed immense popularity abroad, presenting Massmart with an opportunity to be the first to introduce them to the local market, fostering excitement among their younger customers.

James Stephen Donaldson maintains strong ties with South Africa. In addition to his relationship with South African author and gaming personality Thea Booysen, two key members of his philanthropic team hail from South Africa. Darren Margolias, the Executive Director of Beast Philanthropy, was born in South Africa and later relocated to North Carolina, contributing over 20 years to the Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelters board. He has held the position of Executive Director at Beast Philanthropy since July 2020. South African filmmaker Dan Mace serves as the Chief Creative Officer of Beast Philanthropy and is recognized for his collaborations with YouTube star Casey Neistat. Massmart’s decision to introduce Feastables aligns with their commitment to innovation and customer demand in the evolving retail landscape.
