Google has recently launched its latest Pixel 8 priced at $699 and the Pixel 8 Pro at $999, but it seems that a more affordable variant is already in the works. OnLeaks and Smartprix have once again collaborated to provide unofficial renders of the upcoming Pixel 8A, featuring a screen size of around 6.1 inches.

The Pixel 8A shares a design similar to its pricier counterparts, boasting two rear cameras and a hole-punch selfie camera, along with the signature curvaceous aesthetics seen in the new Pixel phones. While some were initially sceptical about the rounded design showcased in leaked renders, these photos closely resemble the early images, affirming Google’s shift towards curvier designs in the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro models.
Google’s commitment to crafting a premium appearance for its more affordable phone is evident. In a statement to Der Standard (via Android Central), the company emphasized its lack of interest in producing budget phones.
Both OnLeaks and Smartprix anticipate the Pixel 8A to feature the same Tensor G3 chip as its pricier counterparts, although it remains uncertain whether they have any inside information regarding this detail. With Google reserving certain Pixel 8 software features for the Pro variant, there’s speculation about what the company might withhold from the Pixel 8A.
