Ahead of the release of Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, CD Projekt Red plans to introduce a substantial update that will bring sweeping changes to the action role-playing game. This update, labelled as version 2.0, is scheduled for release on September 21st and will be provided free of charge to existing owners of the title.

Among its notable additions are entirely new skill trees and perks not previously present in the game, along with a comprehensive overhaul of the in-game police system to adhere to more transparent and straightforward rules.
Within this updated game world, criminal activities will be met with swift retribution, as law enforcement officers will aggressively pursue and eliminate cyberpsychosis-afflicted individuals without hesitation. The Heat system, now integrated into the game’s interface, will gauge the likelihood of a police pursuit, with maximum Heat, denoted by 5 stars, triggering a formidable encounter with Max Tac.
Attempting to evade the authorities will lead to intense car chases and strategically placed roadblocks, requiring players to outmanoeuvre their pursuers. Surrender or bribery will not be options when caught, and players will only learn they are in the clear when NPCs cease their panicked reactions.

This comprehensive update further includes enhancements to the user interface and user experience, introduces new loot, implements crafting adjustments, and introduces new radio stations.
In contrast, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty introduces a fresh narrative, characters, including one modelled after Idris Elba, and an array of quests to enrich the gaming experience. This expansion is set to launch on September 26th, available to players for a fee of $30.
