OpenAI has launched a corporate version of its popular chatbot, ChatGPT, with added features and privacy safeguards. ChatGPT Enterprise is designed to appeal to a broad mix of business customers, from small startups to large enterprises. It offers a number of features that are not available in the consumer version of ChatGPT, including the ability to type in much longer prompts and to use ChatGPT for tasks like coding and brainstorming.
In an effort to address concerns about the security and privacy of company and customer data, OpenAI has said that it won’t train its AI models with prompts or data from companies using ChatGPT Enterprise. The startup also filters out personally identifiable information from the data that it does collect.
OpenAI is hoping that ChatGPT Enterprise will help it to generate more revenue from its chatbot. The company has already taken some steps towards this goal, such as selling a premium subscription and offering companies paid access to its API.
Brad Lightcap, OpenAI’s chief operating officer, said that the company is “committed to building the best version of ChatGPT” and that it is “working with everyone to figure out the best plan for them” in terms of pricing.
Early customers of ChatGPT Enterprise are already using it for a variety of tasks, including coding, helping with creative work, and answering business questions. OpenAI said that ChatGPT has been used by more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies since it was rolled out in November.
The launch of ChatGPT Enterprise is a significant milestone for OpenAI. The company is hoping that the new tool will help it to attract a broader range of business customers and to generate more revenue from its chatbot.
