The design of the OnePlus 12R appears to be heavily inspired by the OnePlus 11 and its predecessor, the OnePlus 11R, which was exclusively released for the Indian market earlier this year.
Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 12R features an identical camera visor setup housing three rear cameras. The rear camera configuration is expected to consist of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a new 32MP telephoto shooter. This upgrade marks a significant improvement over the previous model, which featured a 2MP macro sensor instead.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm’s flagship SoC that is driving many of the best Android phones this year. The front display measures 6.7 inches, slightly curved, and boasts an AMOLED panel with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz and a 1.5K resolution. A centred hole-punch houses the selfie shooter, which is expected to use a 16MP sensor.
For battery capacity, the OnePlus 12R is likely equipped with a 5500mAh battery, slightly larger than that of the OnePlus 11R, and it supports 100W fast charging. As for software, the device is believed to come with OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, out of the box.
According to OnLeaks, the phone is expected to launch first in China, potentially in January 2024, followed by a launch in India. However, it remains uncertain whether the OnePlus 12R will be available in other regions. The device’s imminent release has generated much excitement among OnePlus enthusiasts, eager to explore the latest features and advancements in this more budget-friendly offering.
