In the MCU, Doctor Strange is probably one of the least talked about and popular characters… why that is exactly? I’m not quite sure. That was the case until now (more on this later) when (belatedly I might add) most people are waking up to the fact that he just may be one of the coolest characters around, certainly I have always thought that ever since the character (portrayed by the always on point, Benedict Cumberbatch) graced our big screens for the first time back in 2016. His powers that allow him to bend and manipulate various sequences are some of the best I have ever seen, Marvel of course (as always) does a fantastic job of bringing that all to life.
Okay, enough of the fanboying, back to the main subject at hand. In case you hadn’t seen it or been following the online hype, on Sunday, during the Big Game coverage (sports fans will know what this is), Marvel Studios debuted a brand-new trailer (below) for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that took viewers on a mind-blowing whirlwind through the Multiverse. In addition, Marvel Studios also released a new poster for the supernatural adventure—available now.
In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind bending and dangerous alternative realities of the Mutliverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
In addition to Cumberbatch, the movie also features a fantastic supporting cast, namely Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. It is directed by Sam Raimi, and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated for a May 6, 2022 release date. A religious follower of the MCU trilogy, I’m once again very much looking forward to this one which, as evident, will play a pivotal part in the next phase of the MCU.
