Apple has announced that it is making a new live-action series set in Legendary’s Monsterverse, being created by Chris Black (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Matt Fraction (Marvel’s Hawkeye). Along with Black and Fraction, Toho’s Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita and Safe House Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell are set to executive produce.

It will be set after the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, last year’s blockbuster film that controversially launched on HBO Max streaming on day one of release. The untitled series is said to feature Godzilla, a number of the Titans, and yet another human family whose interpersonal dramas audiences are meant to care about (even though we’re all there for the monsters fighting). According to Apple, the new human family at the centre of this show will have deep, mysterious connections to Apex, the mysterious organization that’d been studying Godzilla and the Titans while also working to hide the creatures’ existences from the general public.
