WhatsApp Web gains a built-in Sticker Maker

It’s not often that new WhatsApp features debut on anything other than mobile platforms first, but here you go – the popular messaging app has now gained its own Sticker Maker on its Web client, where users can turn images from their computer into stickers compatible with the chat service.

The feature has launched on WhatsApp Web first, where users (likely) have the benefit of a mouse or precision trackpad to make editing images far easier.

As of today, the feature – which is rolling out around the world – can be accessed by heading to the attachments view in messages by clicking the paperclip icon. From there, users can select the Sticker option, and upload an image of their choice.

From there, users are able to draw an outline around their new sticker for content-aware crops, and can then layer emoji, text, or WhatsApp on top of their new sticker-of-choice.

WhatsApp has confirmed that the feature will soon roll out to its Mac and Windows desktop clients as soon as next week.
