While the likes of premium watch brands (such as Fossil) have adopted Google’s WearOS as their smartwatch operating system of choice, one of the most acclaimed budget-friendly brands – Mobvoi – is now slated for an official release in South Africa through Vodacom.
As of this week on July 7th, customers will be able to buy the TicWatch GTH – while the 8th of August will see the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS land on our shores.
The TicWatch GTH serves as a fitness-focused wearable in a square form factor; the device comes equipped with multiple sensors to keep track of skin temperature, blood oxygen levels, heart and respiration rates, and further comes equipped with sleep monitoring as well. The device boasts up to ten days of battery life.
The TicWatch Pro 3 GPS is a full-blooded WearOS device running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100. The device features Mobvoi’s dual-screen technology which enables the device to run for up to 3 days with its AMOLED display active, or for up to 45 days purely on the strength of its Essential Mode, which runs on a layered LCD.
Like its counterpart, the Pro 3 GPS has similar fitness tracking capabilities and has an IP68 rating as well as the standard Google Play integration WearOS users can expect.
The range is also available through Ticwatch.co.za, Takealot, and Agent Zero.
