The lab-grown meat industry is making massive strides in delivering real meat products without the need to slaughter animals. The costs are falling drastically – in 2013 the first lab-grown beef burger was made at a cost of $280,000 – and soon it may be cheap enough to sell to the average consumer. KFC is aiming to produce the world’s first lab-grown chicken nuggets.
