The initial details of Vine successor Byte’s partner program has been shared by the company, only days after its launch. Early downloads have been strong and have prompted the creator to be swift with plans to start generating revenue. As with other platforms, Byte knows that its success (or lack thereof) will come down to getting creators active on the platform.

In order make it clear that they will respect creators on the platform, Byte says that for the initial partner program it will share 100 percent of ad revenue with creators. Other benefits will include things like direct contact with the company, access to experimental features, meet and greets and Byte merchandise.
The application saw almost 800,000 downloads in its first weekend on the Play Store and App Store.
According to the company, their long term plan is to ensure that the majority of the ad revenue goes to the creators, with a small sliver being used for business operations. At this point it will be by invitation only – Byte will reach out to creators and ask them to join. At first it will be run in the US only and is expected to launch in the next couple of months.

The program will be built on a viewership bracket system, with tiers determining how much creators will get paid. Partner pools will be established every 120 days, with payouts in four 30-day installment periods. Creators will be placed in brackets depending on the total viewership of their posts within 30-day periods, and all partners in a viewership bracket will be paid the same amount.
“We built Byte for creators,” the company writes. “We believe that more evenly compensating a greater number of creators will contribute to a healthier, more creative community.”
