We are only three weeks away from the launch of the latest Samsung flagship. And we now know that the new range will be called the Galaxy S20 and not Galaxy S11; expect each subsequent model to have the year in the model name. Even though almost every detail has already leaked, it’s always good to see a leaked video that confirms all our expectations.
The leaked video comes from XDA-Developers and shows the device from every angle. Most of the design rumours we expected are confirmed in the video – unfortunately the headphone jack really IS gone – even though we’re not sure how consistent the features and hardware will be across the range. We are expecting five distinct models, after all.
This year we have the new, supposedly quicker, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, the tiny bezels we saw in leaked images before and the punch-hole in the display that houses the selfie camera. At the back we see the four camera setup. Depending on the model, we are expecting a whopping 108 megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide, a telephoto and a time of flight lens.
We have conflicting information about what display we will have on the various models. It is expected that the top variant, which will also come with 5G, will have a 120Hz display. It is sure to be the first in a slew of high refresh rate phones this year after a couple of lesser-known manufacturers showed how impressive the technology can be on a smartphone (many of which used Samsung built panels).
