We are very close to seeing some of this year’s biggest phones (literally) be released in the next weeks and months. One of this select group is going to be the Huawei Mate 30 family of devices. With case makers we are able to picture what these devices will actually look like through renders, as they have the correct dimensions of phones without ever seeing one.
This brings us to the rumoured circular camera arrangement on the back of the Huawei Mate 30 (note, not the Pro version). We first heard of this possibility last month, but it wasn’t from the most reliable source at the time. Now with the leaked case maker dimensions we know with more confidence what this device will look like.
The front of the device shows an all-screen design, other than a diminutive notch housing the front-facer and the four hardware components and sensors. We aren’t 100% sure what all of these sensors and components will do. But let’s get back to the rear, where we see the round camera arrangement initially rumoured, with three lenses on the camera in addition to the LED flash.
There are also two other hardware components on the back, towards the side of the device. We believe these to be an IR blaster (remember those?) for infrared focus assist light accompanied by a time-of-flight sensor.
It does look like the Huawei Mate 30 will retain the headphone jack, which is more than we can say for its beefier brother that will launch alongside it.
We are expecting the Mate 30 to be launched sometime within the next six weeks, so stay tuned for further information.
