Tinder has soft launched Tinder Gold; a new, premium account that lets users preview who has swiped right on their profile before matching.
Part of the joy that comes with the esoteric, millennial dating experience that is Tinder is the surprise when one matches accounts with an interest – and now Tinder Gold, a new premium service from the company, has arrived to shatter all the fun of the app.
That likely won’t be the opinion of those who will flock to use the premium service, and that’s why Tinder Gold is almost certainly going to be a smash hit for the company; namely for the fact that subscribers will be able to preview which users have swiped right on their account prior to matching. Tinder has marketed Tinder Gold as more of a VIP service than anything else; the company’s official description of the service reads “Think of it as your personal Swipe Right concierge—available 24/7—bringing all of your pending matches to you. Now you can sit back, enjoy a fine cocktail, and browse through profiles at your leisure.”
Tinder Gold users will be able to leverage other additional options, including unlimited right swipes, the use of the rewind key, five super likes per day, and the use of the app’s passport feature which will enable users to reset their present location at will.
Gold is presently being soft-launched in Argentina, Australia, Canada and Mexico, and no comment has been issued at the time of writing on either pricing or wider availability. Read: Tinder uses a hidden score to calculate ‘desirability’
