Huawei has officially launched the P10 and P10 Plus in South Africa, and both handsets are expected to be available from Friday the 12th of May.
We absolutely loved the Huawei P9, which we felt was one of the best exemplars of the emerging brand’s subtle style and brilliant camera smarts. With the P10 and P10 Plus duo, the Chinese marque looks forward to world domination – and now both handsets are ready to debut in South Africa.
The Huawei P10 arrives featuring a revised take on the dual-camera array that debuted on the Huawei P9 – and, once again, a Leica partnership adorns the rear of the model. The P10 strongarms the equation with a stronger 20-megapixel monochrome shooter in addition to a 12-megapixel colour unit, and is capable of the same Portrait-style effects as the iPhone 7 Plus. Broader specs are powerful; the device runs on a Kirin 960 SoC, packs in a 1080p display, and brings 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage expandable by MicroSD. A 3,200 mAh battery rounds on the package, which runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s EMUI skin atop.
The Plus-sized model brings with it a beefier 1440p display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a larger 3,750mAh battery. Both models support USB Type-C, a fingerprint scanner, and splash resistance.
Both handsets are set to become available in South Africa on Friday the 12th of May – the standard P10 is set to retail for the figure of R12,999 ZAR, while the larger Plus bears a R13,999 ZAR price tag. Read: Remember Apple’s ‘I’m a Mac’ guy? He’s defected to Huawei
