The Galaxy S7 is officially Samsung's most popular phone

According to ScientiaMobile’s Mobile Overview Report, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 is officially the company’s most popular mobile phone.

For a company that prides itself on producing a legion of budget devices suitable for just about everyone, this is some surprising news – according to ScientiaMobile’s Mobile Overview Report, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 is now its most popular handset, generating more mobile browsing than any other Samsung device on the globe.
The news is staggering, considering that Samsung has, for years, taken aim at the mid-range of the market with wallet-friendly offerings such as the Galaxy J and Galaxy A series – the latter of which was redesigned this year to incorporate premium features such as a fingerprint scanner with a budget price tag.

However, there is precedent to ScientiaMobile’s findings – at one time, the Galaxy S5 was the most popular Samsung phone on the market, having sold in the millions despite some the misgivings some critics had, and notwithstanding Samsung’s overwhelming legion of budget phones that saturated the market at the same time frame.
The Galaxy S5 only surrendered its status as the most popular Samsung phone around in March this year, and it remains to be seen for just how long the Galaxy S7 can hold onto the throne.
Given that the Galaxy S7 has become more affordable in the wake of the Galaxy S8, it’s likely that the handset will only become more popular in the weeks and months to come.

What are your thoughts? Can the Galaxy S8 one day aspire to become Samsung’s most popular handset as well, or will the device be undermined by Samsung’s developing mid-range products? Be sure to let us know your opinion in the comments below!
