Do these dummy iPhone 8 images reveal Apple's new handset in earnest?

New images of a dummy iPhone 8 have circulated online, potentially revealing the design for Apple’s next handset in earnest.

A new dummy iPhone 8 model has surfaced online over the course of this past weekend, and the device appears to show off the design that Apple could champion when it releases its next handset at its annual September event.
The device, which corroborates the design shown in leaked shematics and renders, shows off a handset that uses 2.5D curved glass and a stainless steel edge. The device is reportedly a ‘CNC model according to Foxconn’.

The front of the device apparently bears an edge-to-edge screen with little in the way of bezels, while a vertically-aligned dual lens camera is present on the rear. While there’s no depiction of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, there’s no Apple logo, either.

It has previously been suggested that the iPhone 8 might well drop a capacative Home button in favour of a soft-touch button, which might force Apple’s Touch ID sensor beneath the device’s primary display.
The design harks back to the form employed by the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s, and is reminscient of the original handset Apple unveiled exactly ten years ago – earlier rumours have posited that Apple might well draft a design to evoke the nostalgia of the original iPhone.
Reports have indicated that Apple is working to introduce 3D features on the next iPhone’s selfie camera that could not only be used for the purpose of biometric security, but might also amount to a ‘3D selfie’ feature of sorts.
