Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 has been revealed in new 3D renders, which depict a wraparound screen with shorter top and bottom chins.
While the rumour mill has alleged for some time now that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will see a bolder design refresh than any of its predecessors before it, we might finally have confirmation on what the company’s next flagship phone will look like.
A series of three new images unearthed by GSMArena reveal a tweaked design that shows off a wraparound screen and reduced top-and-bottom chins; effectively showing a device that’s almost more screen than frame.

The design reveals that Samsung might well have laid the home key to rest, leaving us to speculate that the S8 might have a fingerprint reader built into a section its screen – as has been alleged of Apple’s next iPhone.
While the designs depict that the Galaxy S8 might retain the camera module that was seen on the Galaxy S7, the device might introduce stereo speakers and could well preserve the headphone jack.
While it is unclear as to what port the Galaxy S8 might bear, it is likely that the device could adopt USB Type-C as its sole port as both the doomed Galaxy Note 7 and the new Galaxy A range have made the switch.
The renders depicted are corroborated by a video released by Samsung’s Display division, which depicts smartphone display technology before teasing a mystery device with minimal top and bottom chins. See it below:
