Sharp has debuted a new duo of Star Wars smartphones – styled in either light or dark side editions – which are now available in Japan.
If you’ve ever wanted to visit a galaxy far, far away, there’s now a way to get a slice of a famous space opera in your pocket; Sharp, in association with Japanese mobile carrier Soft Bank, has announced two new Star Wars-styled smartphones to tie in with the worldwide release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The Star Wars-themed mobile phones come in two editions; one is a light-side variant, while the other embraces the dark side in a twist reminiscent of Google’s tie-in marketing campaign for The Force Awakens.

The handsets come with a thrifty set of specs; each device sports a 5.3″ 1080 play and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which is expandable by MicroSD.
The device sports a large 3,000mAh battery and includes a 22.6-megapixel primary camera – information hasn’t yet been provided in regards to the device’s front-facing selfie snapper.
The devices will ship with live wallpapers that offer the experience of sitting inside an X-Wing or TIE Advanced cockpit and will ship with an exclusive Android 6.0 skin that can switch between light and dark variants.
That’s in addition to a Star Wars Movie Player app through which one can watch The Force Awakens until 2020 (sheesh), a pre-loaded Star Wars: Force Collection card game with a code for a gold card pack ticket, a Star Wars themed alarm clock, and Star Wars emoji and ringtones.
If that wasn’t enough, consumers will get five exclusive metal figurines with their purchase including Darth Vader, a Death Trooper, a Shore Trooper, K-S2O, and a U-Wing transport.
The phones will be available for purchase on December 2nd, and pre-orders are available now.
