Google launches a new Halloween-inspired doodle game

Get ready to waste hours of your life on this; Google has unveiled a new Google Doodle game to celebrate Halloween.

A Google Doodle is a commemorative take on the iconic Google search logo which usually celebrates an event, and often leaves us marveling at their quaint simplicity yet broad scope. For Halloween this year, Google certainly hasn’t disappointed.
Google today launched a new Halloween Doodle that features five levels in which players have to combat increasingly difficult waves of ghosts to win.

As Google itself phrases its new game:

“This year‘s Halloween Doodle follows freshman feline Momo on her mission to rescue her school of magic. Help her cast out mischievous spirits by swiping in the shape of the symbols above the ghosts‘ heads. And you‘d better pounce fast“”the ghost that stole the master spellbook is getting away!”

The game is simple yet – typically – addictive; players will need to swipe various symbols in increasingly complex order to vanquish ghosts and proceed with levels. 5 lives are granted, and the game ends if Momo the cat depletes those lives by being struck by a ghost.
The game joins some of our favorite Google Doodles; previously the search company rolled out a fully-playable game of Pac-Man based around its company logo. The game – in addition to other Doodles Google has since retired – can still be accessed through the company’s Doodle portal.
