Apple has inadvertently leaked new images depicting its new MacBook Pro, which includes an OLED touch strip and Touch ID support.
While we were only expecting to see Apple’s new MacBook Pro lineup out in the wild on Thursday, the Cupertino company has inadvertently let two images of its new performance laptop leak out on an ill-fated macOS Sierra page.
Both of the new images depict Apple’s new MacBook Pro, which itself includes slimmer bezels around the keys and screen, an OLED touch strip, and Touch ID support.

The MacBook Pro looks set to inherit the standard MacBook’s butterfly keyboard, which will be accompanied by a touch strip which will replace all of the top-mounted function keys. That means, just like the headphone jack on the iPhone 7, that the ‘Escape’ key is gone forever.
The touch strip would be able to serve as a blank black bar when the laptop is powered off, while once turned on it will be able to display colours, buttons, and symbols in response to applications running on-screen.
One picture depicts the bar being used to facilitate Apple Pay transactions, which migrated to the web earlier this year. The presence of two icons seemingly confirm that the MacBook Pro will support Touch ID, wherein fingerprints could be enrolled on the touch bar itself.
A trademark filing revealed that Apple could well name the touch strip the ‘Magic Toolbar’, which would complement the company’s Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse.
