If you can’t wait for Apple’s iPhone 7 to hit store shelves, you can get half of the experience by equipping your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus with Apple Plugs.
If you’ve been anywhere near the internet today (and, since you’re here, you probably have) you’ve likely seen Apple being roasted for the decision to remove the standard 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7.
This means that in future, those upgrading to the next iPhone will probably have to find another set of headphones to use with their smartphone – or fork out for Apple’s premium new AirPods.

However, the good folks at Nicer have come up with a solution; you needn’t wait until the iPhone 7 comes out to become robbed of the ability to plug in any old set of earphones. Instead, their newest product – Apple Plugs- gets your iPhone 6 or 6s model halfway to the future.
Apple Plug takes the form of a 3.5mm jack that connects to, well, nothing. By simply inserting the jack into an iPhone with a matching colour, you can altogether hide that unsightly audio jack and presume you’re already living in the future.
If you haven’t clicked by now, this is an amazing parody. Nicer’s Apple Plug website beautifully rips off Apple’s design language and even ropes together some beautifully incisive prose. For instance, this hard sell is golden:
“This isn’t 2009. Your phone doesn’t have a floppy drive, and it shouldn’t have a headphone connector either. When we made iPhone 6 and 6s, the world wasn’t ready for the future. Now, it is. Apple Plug is the perfect solution. Fill in your archaic headphone connector with beautiful aluminium and plug yourself into the future.”

While Apple Plug won’t be commercially available – ever – be sure to take a look at the product’s website for a laugh, and check out Nicer’s official web presence, too.
