Apple is tipped to release new MacBook Pro, Air, and iMac models by October

Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil redesigned MacBook Pro and Air models as well as a new iMac lineup with AMD graphics chips by October.

Have you been hankering for a sizeable Mac update? We have; the last sizeable addition Apple made to its laptop lineup (besides the ultraportable MacBook) was the Retina MacBook Pro in 2012.
Now, new reports indicate that Apple is not only preparing a new MacBook Pro and Air lineup – which could include an OLED touch bar, as previously rumoured – but has further invested in overhauling the iMac.

The report indicates that Apple’s new MacBook Pro would feature a “Dynamic Function Row” – an OLED touch bar to everyone else – as well as console-class AMD Polaris graphics chips.
The revitalized MacBook Air would include USB Type-C ports, placing it in a similar breadth to the core MacBook model.
Finally, the iMac would benefit from revitalized graphics chips – allegedly AMD units – and could introduce a new 5K display. Some reports indicate the display – which Apple is working on with LG – could serve as a standalone unit to replace the company’s axed Thunderbolt display, while some sources place the rumour in reference to the iMac’s display itself.
Apple previously released a premium iMac with a 5K screen, lending credence to the idea that its co-developed display could be used onboard a new iMac model.
According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to debut its new Mac hardware in October this year, nearly one month after its iPhone 7 event on the 7th of September. The update would coincide with the release of macOS Sierra, the latest upgrade to Apple’s desktop operating system (formerly Mac OS X).
