LG's X Cam is heading to South Africa

LG’s X Cam – its mid-range smartphone with premium camera features – will officially arrive in South Africa in August this year.

LG’s X series is constituted by mid-range smartphones that each have one premium feature. The X Screen, for example, bears a second screen which was first seen aboard the LG V10. Now, the second device in the X series – the X Cam – has been confirmed to land in South Africa within the month of August.
The X Cam bears two rear cameras in the style of LG’s flagship, the G5; one serves as a conventional 13-megapixel lens while the other functions as a 5-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle lens.

The standard 13-megapixel lens will appeal to photographers with an aperture of f/2.0, while the device sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie enthusiasts.
While the X Screen has previously been confirmed to arrive on our shores before the end of the year, the X Cam will likely arrive ahead of it. The latter device is set to become available from Vodacom from the 10th of August for a retail price of R5499 ZAR.
The X Cam is rounded out by a MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 2,500mAh battery underneath a 1080p display.

The X series is designed to slot in-between LG’s budget K series and the flagship G range.
