A new WhatsApp beta has revealed the presence of two new features; namely, the option to set an in-app voicemail and automatically call back a missed call.
We’ve recently been privy to a surprising amount of as-yet unreleased WhatsApp features. In this month alone, we’ve heard rumblings that the instant messaging app might not only introduce Snapchat-style image features, but further music sharing as well.
This all comes hot on the heels of news that in-app video calling will soon become available. However, we’ve yet to hear anything as to when those features might roll out.

Now, we’ve another two additional features we can add to that list, as a decompiled WhatsApp beta has revealed the presence of a forthcoming in-app voicemail option in addition to an auto call-back function.
Version 2.16.198 – the latest beta build of WhatsApp – includes both tools. As with a regular call, in-app voicemail allows a dialer to leave a voice message should their call not be answered by the responding party. The call-back feature allows users to set their WhatsApp client to automatically dial back a missed incoming call.
Both new features can be found in the latest beta build of the app, the Android APK of which can be downloaded here.
It is presently unclear whether WhatsApp plans to initiate a mass rollout which could bundle together all the features we’ve heard about so far, or whether it plans to slowly introduce new feature sets over the coming year.
