Seeming confirming rumours that circulated earlier this year, specifications for HTC’s Nexus M1 handset have leaked ahead of launch.
Earlier this year, a rumour circulated that HTC would be placed in charge of producing two new handsets as part of the Nexus program. Now, specs for a new device named the ‘Nexus M1’ have leaked.
Reports earlier his year posited that HTC had been placed in charge of manufacturing two new Nexus devices, codenamed Marlin and Sailfish.

The HTC Nexus M1 (the Marlin model) is set to feature a 5.5″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560.
Internally, the Nexus M1 will supposedly bear a Snapdragon 821 SoC, a quad-core GPU, 4GB of RAM, upwards of 32GB of internal storage.
A 3,450mAh battery, 12 and 8-megapixel camera split and fingerprint as well as USB Type C support will round out the package.
HTC originally produced the Nexus One and Nexus 9 tablet years ago, and it is alleged that the Nexus M1 will share design similarities with the HTC 10, which was released earlier this year.
The race to build this year’s Nexus device seems to be an increasingly contested one. While HTC has widely been indicated to be developing two Nexus handsets, our friends at Gearburn reported earlier this year that Huawei confirmed it is once again in charge of a Nexus device.
While HTC could produce two new devices, it is expected that Huawei could produce a follow-up to this year’s Nexus 6P in the form of an alleged Nexus 7P.
Should that prove true, we might be due to see more Nexus devices this year that previously thought.
