All men must die, all men must play video games: Microsoft has unveiled a Game of Thrones edition Xbox One alongside the conclusion of the show’s 6th season.
If you’ve ever sat around with your bannermen, drinking ale and shouting ‘The King In The North!’, this one is for you. Microsoft has unveiled three Game of Thrones edition Xbox One consoles to tie in with the conclusion of the popular show’s 6th season.
The consoles, which look like a cross between an opulent birthday cake and a treasure chest, are on offer as the prize of a competition exclusive to Xbox France.

The top of the Game of Thrones edition Xbox One features the show’s logo in addition to three metal rings visible at the opening sequence of every episode. Unfortunately, they don’t spin, nor do tiny cities rise up upon awakening the console.
The console further comes equipped with a stylized controller, clad in the same metallic material that adorns the console itself.
Both the controller and Xbox One feature an off white power button to tie in with the colour scheme of the console.
Unveiled in a YouTube video with a production value close to the series itself, the console is teased alongside a box set of the show’s 6 seasons, which are soon to be available on Blu-Ray.
The only disappointing aspect of the console is the revelation that we’ll likely never be able to buy it. Microsoft similarly held an Iron Man themed Xbox One up for grabs last year.
