Boston Dynamics' Atlas is the next generation robot

After showcasing their ‘Spot’ quadruped walker last year, the Boston Dynamics Atlas represents the next generation of working robot.

Last year, we got a glimpse into the secret life of robots everywhere as ‘Spot’, a walker designed by Boston Dynamics, began military testing. Now, Boston Dynamics Atlas promises to be the next generation robot.
Boston Dynamics, a group owned by Alphabet, has demonstrated a new version of Atlas which is an iterative update over previous generations. Now in a much smaller frame at 5 feet 9 inches and weighing about 180 pounds, Atlas is nearly half the weight of its last predecessor.

Atlas is quite comfortable in either indoors or outdoors, and sports sensors in its body and legs for balance, and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its ‘head’ for navigation.
In the video below, Atlas is showcased performing a variety of tasks while showcasing his new and improved frame.
