HP has unveiled the Elite X3; a new Windows 10 Mobile device that functions both as a smartphone and PC through Continuum.
HP has quietly unveiled the Elite X3 at MWC; a new Windows 10 Mobile device designed with the intention of not only performing as a phone, but also as a fully-fledged ultraportable computer.
The Elite X3 is a phablet with a 5.9″ display, with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and a size 4,150mAh battery running the show inside.

Aimed directly at the enterprise market, the Z4 includes a docking station that, when connected to a monitor, allows to the phone to convert from Windows 10 Mobile to desktop view. The docking station further offers ethernet and USB ports for easy connection.
However, the X3 won’t be able to run traditional desktop apps, and will only be able to run Universal Apps through Continuum. To remedy this, HP is providing a virtual environment though which such programs can be accessed.
Further, the X3 is supplemented by the Mobile Extender; a netbook-style shell that when connected to the device awakens as a fully-fledged laptop.
HP’s bet with the X3 is clearly aimed at enterprise solutions, with the intent of offering companies a mobile solution that doubles as a smartphone and portable computer.
