Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 releases in South Africa

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is the latest device to hit South African shores, and is now available in the country for just under R3000 ZAR.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is the latest device from the Chinese company to arrive in South Africa, following the Mi 4 which began selling in the country last month.
The Redmi Note 2 will sell at just under R3000 ZAR, and will sport a MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core chipset with 16GB of internal storage, a 13 and 5 megapixel camera split, a 3060mAh irremovable battery, and 2GB of RAM within a 5.5″ form factor.

The Redmi Note 2 has begun selling on Takealot, and will be available from DionWired, Incredible Connection and Marko outlets, among others, following the 22nd of February.
The device is priced competitively among its peers, which retails well below comparative offerings – many of which retail for double the price.
