Dr. Dre set to star in Apple's first original TV series

While the Cupertino company has previously developed content for musicians, a new Dr Dre Apple TV series will mark the company’s first original program.

2016 is set to be the year Apple not only introduces us to a (hopefully) more affordable iPhone in the form of the iPhone 5se, but further reveals its first original television programming in the form of a Dr Dre Apple TV series joint effort named Vital Signs.
Dr Dre, the co-founder of Beats Music and an executive at Apple, is set to star in the series. According to sources, opinions are split between speculation that this is Apple’s first foray into television, or is merely part of a wider effort to extend the presence of Apple Music.

Vital Signs, regardless, will be mark Apple’s first television production, and is preceded by video content the company produced in-house for artists such as Drake, Pharrel and Eminem.
It is presently unknown how Vital Signs will be distributed, with speculation positing that Apple might choose to release the series on iTunes or exclusively through Apple Music.
Last week, Apple Music reached 11 million paid subscribers – beginning to close in on the likes of Spotify.
