Action camera company GoPro has teased the Karma; the company’s first foray into quadcopter drone development, which is set for release next year.
GoPro might be a company synonymous with high-octane experiences and action cameras, yet the company has never before produced a quadcopter drone – this all looks set to change with a latest video from the firm teasing a new product called the Karma.
According to a report from Re/code earlier this year, GoPro CEO Nick Woodman confirmed that the company intends to move into quadcopter development through the release of a product in 2016.
A new piece of footage released from the company doesn’t reveal any hint of what the Karma looks like, but intends demonstrates a wide variety of shots taken using the drone.
Presently, GoPro is holding a competition on their official website, where those who enter will be able to compete for one of 100 drones available to the public next year.
The Karma will mark the first occasion that the company has produced a drone, though its cameras have been made compatible with a wide variety of quadcopters prior to the eventual release of the product.
