After a wait that feels like it has stretched into centuries, Google Play Music has finally launched in South Africa.
Play Music, which includes an online marketplace for digital music and the All Access streaming service, was launched in the country yesterday.
Further, the service will allow South Africans to store their own music collection online, create custom radio stations, and pin tracks available through the subscription service for offline listening.
Google will additionally offer recommendations from a dedicated music team, and will allow users to explore songs by genre.
“œStarting today, local music fans will have an unlimited pass to a huge library of music, on all of their devices, from all the major record companies, as well as top local and independent labels,“ Google South Africa said in a statement.
Subscriptions to All Access will start at an introductory price of R49.99 ZAR for users who sign up before the 26th of January 2016, and is available as a 30 day free trial.
