Following the news last month that Chinese company Xiaomi was set to bring the affordable Mi 4 and Redmi 2 to South Africa under the MIA (Mobiles In Africa) group, we now officially have clarity on the price of the Mi4 on local contract.
The Mi 4, which first went on sale on the 27th of November through a flash sale, is now available from Vodacom and MTN as of the 4th of December.
MIA officially presided over the official launch of the smartphone, stating that “œWe are well in time for the holiday shopping season with what we believe to be the best value-for-money premium smartphone deal in South Africa.“
The Xiaomi Mi 4 will officially be available at Dion Wired, Incredible Connection and Makro through a Vodacom contract; namely, three uChoose Flexi plans – the uChoose Flexi 110 at R249 ZAR pm, the uChoose Flexi 150 at R279 ZAR pm, and the uChoose Flexi 200 at R299 ZAR pm.
Conversely, MTN stores are offering the Mi4 on three plans, namely the MTNChoice 100 at R289 ZAR pm, the MTNChoice Flexi 200 at R289 ZAR pm, MTN AnyTime 200 Top Up at R299 ZAR pm.
