We have documented HTC’s dire financial position on many an occasion, even as recently as Q3 in 2015 when they lost massive amounts of money. The Taiwanese company has had a rough couple of years and we have been supporting them and hoping that they make a return, as their devices have really stood out from the crowd.
Their most recent launch has been the One A9. Now, while we bemoaned the fact that it looks almost exactly like an iPhone 6, have countered by saying that the iPhone copied them first ““ they were simply taking back their design.
While we haven‘t had the opportunity to get the device in our hands, we have loved most HTC products over the last couple of years, the latest being their early 2015 flagship, the One M9.
This week HTC have announced that their latest device, the HTC One A9, may be helping them turn their fortunes around. While they aren‘t turning profits (yet), there is some cause to be hopeful. HTC‘s latest monthly data is out, and that trend towards higher revenue we have seen in the last couple of months is continuing. Compared to October, HTC took in about 15 percent more money in November, for a total of over $313 million.
Of course, they aren‘t out of the woods yet, but upward trends are exactly what HTC needs at this stage. Hopefully this will continue in December.
