Huawei unveils the sub-$200 Enjoy 5S

Huawei have enjoyed a bumper 2015 – introducing flagships such as the P8, Mate S and, most recently, the Mate 8. Now, the company has turned its attention to offering value-for-money at the budget end of the market with the Enjoy 5S.
The Chinese company, which is now the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, has released the follow-up to the standard Enjoy 5.
The Enjoy 5S, which is expected to retail for ¥1,199 CNY or $190 USD, will bring a considerably beefy octa-core 1.5Ghz MediaTek processor, as well as a rear-fitted fingerprint sensor, similar to the unit found on the high-end Mate 8.
Further, the Enjoy 5S will weigh in at a minimal 135 grams and measure in at 7.6mm, and pack in a 2,200mAh battery.
Beyond these new additions, the Enjoy 5S will retain the same specifications as the Enjoy 5, and will carry a 720p screen, 2GB of RAM, 13 megapixel and 5 megapixel primary and secondary cameras respectively, on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop with 16GB of internal storage.
Presently, there’s no word on whether we can expect local availability in South Africa; however, with the likes of Xiaomi releasing the affordable Mi 4 and Redmi 2 in the country, Huawei might be hard pressed to resist bringing the Enjoy 5S to our shores.
