A couple of months ago we were convinced that Apple were going to reveal the iPhone 6c alongside the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at their September launch event. It would be the lower cost model, this time not made of plastic like the iPhone 5c (which was not very successful), or like the early concept you see above. No, it would also be made of metal, but return to the 4 inch form factor so many people had come to love of the iPhone.
New reports have surfaced that the launch date for this device is all but certain. We also hear that it may very well include the 3D Touch technology we see from the new line of iPhones. Luckily, we may not have to wait until the new iPhone 7 is launched at the regular September event next year, it will be released earlier.
IHS Technology research director for China Kevin Wang has shared a bit of unofficial news from a “˜reliable source‘ part of the manufacturing process. According to Wang, the iPhone 6c will be launched in June 2016, several months before Apple unveils its flagship devices.
While we have no official news to back this up, these kinds of leaks turn out to be true more often than not. We will keep our ears close to the ground for any other news regarding Apple‘s “˜budget‘ iPhone.
