Chinese manufacturer Hisense has launched three new LTE-enabled smartphones into the South African market; the INFINITY PureShot, K8 and Pulse.
Each smartphone in the range comes equipped with dual-SIM slots, but otherwise differs in specification.
The PureShot, as its name might suggest, is centered around its 13 megapixel primary camera and 5 megapixel selfie shooter. On board is 2GBs of RAM, a 1.36GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a 720p display.
The INFINITY K8 boasts a 5.5″ 1080p screen and similar camera specification to the PureShot, with a 2700mAh battery.
Lastly, the INFINITY Pulse forms the lower-end of the lineup, carrying 720p display, 1.2Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, and an 8 megapixel primary camera and 5 megapixel front facing snapper.
The new INFINITY range sits in the budget-to-mid-range end of the price spectrum; the K8 sits in mid-range at R4999 ZAR, with the PureShot retailing for R3499 ZAR and the Pulse at R2799 ZAR.
Hisense’s latest entry into the South African market forms part of an attempt to penetrate the budget and mid-range smartphone market.
“All three of our new smartphones are LTE enabled, allowing for fast internet access and speedy video downloads. Hisense have also included dual-SIM slots to ensure that users can switch between networks when they want” Mark Zhang, the Product Manager at Hisense South Africa said.
All three smartphones are expected to be available from the end of November in retail stores.
