Google’s Inbox streamlined with Smart Reply messages

Since Google made Inbox available to its users by invitation and earlier this year for most others and plenty of new devices, a lot of people have come to love the new universal inbox. It is available on Android and iOS, and the app is meant to be smarter than your traditional email, using machine learning to identify message highlights, bundle similar emails together, and optimize search performance.
Google have now announced a new update to the service, with the ability to suggest pre-written email responses. Called Smart Reply, it uses these sophisticated methods to identify emails that would usually just require a short reply.
For example, a friend invites you to drink after work, in which case Smart Reply would present you with a few options like “œYes, see you there“ or “œNo, unfortunately I can‘t make it.“ It recognizes the nature of the email you received and with Google having mined masses of data they are able to predict the most likely answers.
You can of course amend these responses with additional text or change them altogether, but when you really don‘t need to say much, Smart Reply could save you a couple of precious seconds.
Smart Reply will go live on Android and iOS sometime during this week.
