Apple patents Force Touch on keyboards

As is the case with every iteration of the so-called “˜S‘ version of the iPhone, there weren‘t many new features to this year‘s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Analysts wondered if the new Force Touch, which is the only real addition in this year‘s device, would be enough to sell the great amounts of iPhones we have become used to.
Well, the jury is in and as we‘ve seen almost every year, Apple has set new sales records with the iPhone. Now we learn that Apple wants to ride the wave of the Force Touch “˜revolution‘ and have patented a way to include it in laptop keyboards as well.

The patent is called an “œultra-low travel keyboard,“ and it would allow different commands depending on how hard you press the keys. Unfortunately we don‘t have much more detail at this stage, but the patent application sketches do paint a vague picture of how it will work.
Just remember, tech companies patent a hell of a lot of things that never make it into production. We‘ll have to wait and see what lies in store for this technology in the future.
